I was supposed to be walking down the aisle. Instead, I checked into a roadside Reno motel wearing my wedding dress, veil, gloves, and the expression of a woman who had just made the first honest decision of her life.
Then you followed me upstairs.
Behind the locked door, I told you why I ran, what I wanted, and why the wedding night I had planned no longer mattered. The family china came out, the dress came undone, and Room 12 became the scene of a very different beginning.
By morning, I was gone. The only proof I had ever been there was a wedding ring left behind on the motel bed.
Stay tuned for The Maid. She finds the ring, sees what was left on the sheets, and realizes Room 12 has a story no one has told her.
